Introduction
As mentioned in the second Vistas report, this tour went through some revisions just before it started, owing to both weather forecasts and half-broken boots. The new plan was mostly identical to the original one for the first three days, but from then on it was more a matter of "getting out" as easily as possible. I also had to consider the fact that due to some mysterious event (which was nowhere published) the overnight trains were not running during the days when I wanted to return home afterwards under the first plan, which was conveniently solved by the shortened one.
Even though I could send some stuff home from Kebnekaise the pack still contained some items that were not actually necessary for this tour, but that I could not leave in Vistas, and due to this coupled with last-minute decisions the preceding evening I do not have a detailed gear list to share this time.
In any event, with all the decisions and preparations made I looked forward to the tour, and hoped for better weather than prognosticated.
Here, then, is the full account of what transpired during the subsequent five days. Each section has a header consisting of a short overview of the stage in question, complete with a map showing the route travelled. A ring marks the starting point, a square the lunch break location (if any), and a star the destination. Vertical distances have been calculated from the map and have an accuracy of 20 m. All field breakfasts consisted of oatmeal porridge, tea and a sandwich, and all lunches of two cups of instant soup, a sandwich and water.
