Introduction

After quite a few attempts, I was finally accepted into the thrice-a-year cottage warden course hosted by STF; this particular one took place in Stensdalen here in the Republic of Jamtland in the beginning of February. It also marked the 30th anniversary of these courses, which aim to give aspiring wardens some basic education in areas which future assignments will or could come into contact with, such as LPG management, meteorology, first aid, fjeld rescue, etc., and are a requirement when applying for a cottage position.

This report will not be of the verbose kind – it consists mostly of pictures, with a few words here and there to set the scene. Frankly, I do not believe that a detailed account of every lesson (most of the time was spent inside anyway) would be of much interest...

Oh, well. On with it!
