Summary
Sometimes you just have all the luck. With weather as perfectly timed as this, who can complain? I mean, stormy nights and rainy sauna sessions are not only of no concern, but perhaps even something which you expect from a tour like this, in order for it to feel "genuine"...
Be that as it may, I especially enjoyed the visit to Issjödalen – I hadn't seen anything quite like it before. Blanktjärnarna provided a very nice experience as well, with their extraordinary nature. Seeing that esker rear its ridge between the meres was really something, too, not to mention walking on top of it. On the downside, there's that incident with the disappearing(?) trail, but hey, a little adventure never hurts, eh?
All in all, this was a very pleasant tour, which also served to familiarize me with the area. With autumn well underway, the vegetation was aflame with color, even though the ultimate hues had not yet set in. The change is somewhat slower here in the southern fjeld regions compared to the northern ones, which is why the cottages and stations close up to two weeks later "down here". It was more than enough to put me under the autumnal spell, though. Since it was the end of the season, once I was home again I began contemplating the prospects for the oncoming winter – the results of which are covered by other reports...
