Introduction
Kutjaure is one of those places I had had my eye on for some time, and when the opportunity presented itself I accepted a shorter wardenship there at the end of the season. As reported elsewhere I decided to combine this period with a lead-in tour, which was also going to be the only tour of the summer. I was really looking forward to all of this, and where Kutjaure itself is concerned I had seen a few appealing pictures and heard nothing but high praise from those who had been there.
Something else which pulled at my imagination was the prospect of seeing the nearby forest explode in color with the approach of autumn, and the map held promises of many a nice day tour in a tract otherwise mostly overlooked by the great masses. Now, Kutjaure lies on the western branch of Padjelantaleden (Padjelanta Trail), which is indeed a popular trail, but for some reason most people tend to choose the eastern branch to/from Akka/Änonjálmme, so I was not expecting a rush.
Since everything relating to the preparations has already been told in that other place, let's just get on with it.
Here, then, follows an abridged account of the events during the three weeks I spent in and around Kutjaure, illustrated by the usual range of pictures. Day tours have been placed in their own reports, which are linked to from the relevant pages.
